Restricting file system access

By default, users can navigate through an entire network when browsing for files from within the MACRO modules.

A range of settings allows a System Administrator to restrict user access to specified drives and folders. Once the settings are in place, only the permitted locations are available when browsing locations to open or save files. In addition, the following commands and any other file-associated actions are not available to the user:

To restrict access, you must set the 'hostedenvironment' setting plus either 'permitteddrives' or 'permitteddrivesregex' in the MACRO Settings File (MACROUserSettings40.config). You may also need to use the 'reportsdirectory' and 'reportsbindirectory' settings if the default locations will no longer be available to users. See the All Modules and REP Module sections in the MACRO Settings File topic for more information.
