Registration is set up by the study designer, who places a registration trigger at a certain point in the study.
During data entry, when you reach this point, registration will automatically be attempted.
If registration succeeds, a message is displayed, informing you of the successful registration and giving the unique registration code that has been assigned to the subject for the current study. This registration code is designed by the study designer.
If registration does not succeed, a message will be displayed, informing you of the failure and giving the reason. If registration fails, contact your system administrator. Registration can fail for any of three reasons:
The current subject is not unique. The study designer has specified certain questions that will be checked against existing subjects. If the answers to all these questions are the same for an existing subject, this suggests that someone may have entered that subject into the study already.
Necessary information is missing. The study designer has specified certain questions that must be completed before registration can take place. If you have not given answers to these questions then registration will fail.
The subject does not comply with registration conditions. The study designer has set conditions against certain questions. If the answers given do not comply with these conditions then registration will fail.
To register a subject when prompted, you need the 'Register subject' permission
