Query module

Using FILTER

The FILTER section of the Query module enables you to create simple and complex filters in order to specify the responses to be included in your query. Before you do this, you must have selected the questions you wish to use.

Creating a filter element

  1. Click New.

  2. Select the Band type. More help on band types

  3. Enter a Band No between 1 and 9. Elements with the same band number are grouped together in the filter.

  4. Select an Operand from the drop down list. This list contains all the questions in your selected study, plus [SubjectId], [Site] and [SubjectLabel].

  5. Select a comparison operator from the Operator drop down list.

  6. Enter a value or select a category code in the Criteria field. If the operand is a category question, the list will contain all available values for that question. For example, if the first part of the filter element is "sex=", you require a value such as "1-Female" to complete it.
If the operand is not a category question, the files will display as a text box. For example, if the first part of the filter element is "height>" you will require a value such as "180" to complete it. See examples below.

  7. Click Add.

  8. To stop the creation of a filter element, click Cancel.

Deleting an existing filter element

  1. Select the element.

  2. Click Delete.

Changing an existing filter element

  1. Select the element.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. You can now change the Band No, Operand, Operator and Criteria as required.

  4. Click Change to accept the change or Cancel to abort.
