In order to use Clinical Coding in a study, complete the following steps:
Install the Clinical Coding server.
Within Administrative Tools in the Control Panel, locate and start the 'Clinical Coding Service' in Services (Local).
Use the Clinical Coding module to register a medical dictionary.
In the SD module, edit the question definition for any questions to be coded. You must set the question type to Thesaurus and associate the question with a medical dictionary.
Ensure that ASP is enabled.
Known Issue: Sometimes the study designer may decide that an existing text question should be changed to a thesaurus question so that it can be coded. In this case, any response value entered into the original text question will still display after the question type has been changed, but the value cannot be coded as expected. If you are affected by this issue then please contact Customer Support for help as it is possible to correct this behaviour by running a set of scripts.
