Clinical Coding module

About the Clinical Coding module

Use this module to code special thesaurus questions against a specific version of a medical dictionary in order to achieve consistency in describing symptoms.

This feature works with a Clinical Coding service.

At least one medical dictionary must be registered in a database. During the creation of a thesaurus question, the study designer must associate it with a specific dictionary. Once a response value has been entered these questions can be coded, either manually during data entry or automatically via the Batch Code Responses option in the Clinical Coding module.

Thesaurus questions have a special Clinical Coding Audit Trail enabling you to view the coding history.

If you upgrade to a newer version of a medial dictionary you can use the recoding tool to recode any previously-coded questions.

You can set up a query in the Query Module to include clinical coding attributes for thesaurus questions.

A Clinical Coding report enables you to export the full set of coding information for coded responses.

This module is not part of the standard MACRO package but can be purchased separately. Please contact Customer Support for details.
