Expression Builder options

When entering expressions in the Arezzo Expression Builder, you can set defaults regarding colons, brackets and fonts in the Options menu.

Colons

In Arezzo syntax, when you specify a question on a particular eForm in a particular visit, you must separate the visit, eForm and question codes with a colon, for  example

WK1:MEDS:MED_YN

To automatically add a colon after any selected visit or eForm code, select Add Colons from the Options menu.

When the Add Colons option is ticked, a colon will be added automatically each time you select a visit or eForm from the drop down lists. When this option is not ticked, no colon will be added, and if you are using the visit or eForm code as part of a question specification you must add the colon separator yourself.

Brackets

Many of Arezzo's functions require arguments in brackets. When you select a function button, a left bracket is automatically added as necessary.

To automatically add a right bracket when you select a function, select Add Right Brackets from the Options menu.

When this option is ticked, whenever you click a function button that requires brackets, the right bracket will be automatically added for you.

For example, if you click the isknown button, a pair of brackets will be added to the main text field, with the cursor positioned between them, ready for you to add the question code. See image

Font

To change the font used in the Expression Builder, select Font... from the Options menu. This displays the standard Windows Fonts window allowing you to select font, style and size.
