Changing a database password

To change a database password, you need the 'Change database password' permission

Whenever a database is registered, a database user account must be specified to allow MACRO access to the database. If the database administrator changes the password on the user account after the database was registered, the system administrator must to re-synchronise what MACRO sees as the database password.

Any existing custom reports in the database will cease to work after the database password has been changed. To continue using the reports, you will need to recreate them in the Report Management module.

To change a database password

  1. Select Database > Change Database Password... or right click on a database icon and select Change Database Password. The Change Database Password window is displayed.
