Database Upgrade Utility
The Database Upgrade Utility (DBUU) has two options:
The DBUU automatically detects the current version of each database and applies all the upgrade scripts that are necessary to upgrade the database to the latest version. This means that if you need to upgrade an old database through multiple versions of MACRO, you can do it in one step rather than having to perform each version upgrade separately.
This type of database upgrade is now part of the standard installation procedure when updating MACRO to a new release version and the required steps are included in the Installation Guide for each new release, available to download from the MACRO User Community website.
The DBUU upgrades a v3 database to v4.5.0 only. If you wish to upgrade an existing MACRO v3 database for use in a newer version of MACRO v4, follow these two steps:
Run the ‘Upgrade a MACRO v3 database to MACRO v4’ option to upgrade your database to v4.5.0.
Please note that you can import v3 study definitions, laboratory definitions and subject data directly into v4.6.0 using the options in the System Management module Tasks menu.
For full details on upgrading to MACRO v4.5.0 and the options available, please see the Upgrade Support Pack, available to download from the MACRO User Community website. This pack includes a number of documents all designed to help you with the entire upgrade process from the planning stage right through to post-upgrade checks.
