Auto Import module

Importing transferred data with the Command Line

You can import transferred data using the command line instead of the Auto Import module.

Use the following command:

InferMed.M40.MACRO_AI.exe/AI/UserName/Password/Database/Role/LogFile

This command will take data from all the files that have been uploaded into the relevant HTML folder since the last auto-import and import it into the database. The import process will end when the data has been successfully imported. See details of what happens during the import process...

When specifying the LogFile parameter in the command you must include the full path AND the filename.

Specifying the log file

Details of each import session are saved to a log file on the server in one of three ways:

If you have any folders which contain spaces in the path, such as 'Program Files', ensure that the name of the folder is the DOS name, as using the full name of the folder may cause the command to fail. Using the command prompt to enter dir /x in a directory will display the DOS name for all sub directories.

Scheduling data import

The best way to keep your data synchronised is to run Auto Import as a scheduled process. The frequency will depend on the number of remote sites and how often they transfer data, but a suitable interval would be every 5 minutes. Please note that the data transfer process places some messages directly in the server database (such as DCRs, SDVs and Notes), but the associated subject data remains on the server until it is imported via Auto Import.
