The main screen is divided into two sections.
The tree view in the left-hand panel shows databases, studies, sites, users and roles. Click on a + sign to expand that part of the tree. The behaviour of the database section within the tree view may be customised by editing the Settings file.
The status of each database is shown by the colour of its icon:
the database which the user is currently logged into is yellow
databases which are connected appear green
databases which are offline, or previous databases which are yet to be upgraded, are shown as grey.

The right-hand panel gives information on databases or individual users, depending on your selection from the left-hand panel.
