Transferring a subject to a different site

You can transfer an existing subject from one site to another. When you transfer a subject, a new subject ID is generated at the new site.

To transfer a subject, you need the 'Transfer subject' permission. Subjects can only be transferred to a site to which you have permission to access.

  1. Select Tasks > Subject > Site transfer... the Site transfer window is displayed.

  2. Select the study containing the subject you wish to transfer.

  3. Select the current site of the subject you wish to transfer.

  4. Select the subject you wish to transfer. For each subject in the list, the subject ID and subject label (if available) is displayed.

  5. Select the new site to which you wish to transfer the selected subject.

  6. Click Transfer. A confirmation message is displayed when the transfer has been successfully completed, informing you of the new subject ID.

All subject records in the database including some Arezzo terms are updated with the new site and subject ID. See list of records that are updated

An entry is created in the system log giving details of the subject site transfer.

Although existing registration records are updated, the subject is not re-registered and the subject’s registration identifier is not changed.

It is recommended that you revalidate the subject after the transfer to update any question values that have been derived using expressions containing the changed Arezzo terms. Otherwise, these values will only be updated the next time each relevant eForm is opened and saved in the Data Entry module by a user with the 'Change data' permission.
