Once you have one or more responses that you wish to upload in the response buffer, you can make any necessary changes by clicking Edit.
When you are satisfied with the responses in the buffer, click Upload to place the responses into your database. The progress of your upload will be displayed in the Progress window.
Batch responses which have been uploaded successfully disappear from the response buffer. The message 'Upload Complete' is displayed in the Progress window.
If the imported response value differs from the existing value, the imported response is set as the current value and is added to the audit trail.
If the imported response value equals the existing value, no change is made.
If the imported value is empty, the question status is set to Missing.
A Reason For Change (RFC) is created for any question that changes as a result of the upload and is set to require a RFC.
Validation checks are fired which may result in a change to question status.
Batch responses that cannot be uploaded will generate an error message and remain in the table. For example, a response cannot be saved if the associated eForm date question has not been completed.
When an upload is started a lock is put in place to prevent another upload being started whilst the first is in progress.
When the upload finishes the lock is removed.
If the upload remains locked, you can manually unlock it by clicking Unlock Batch Data Loading Upload from the File menu.
When the responses are uploaded, registration for new subjects will be performed automatically for those subjects which are eligible for registration as set up in the Study Definition module.
