Data Transfer module

About the Data Transfer module

This module is part of the remote data entry feature. Use it to transfer study data between the remote machine and the server.

Use this feature to collect subject data offline at sites without an internet connection and then transfer it to a central server when required.

As well as subject data, other study data such as updated DCRs, SDVs, notes, freeze/lock data and laboratory definitions is transferred from the remote site to the server.

Subject data is entered at the remote site via the remote machine via the Web Data Entry/Review module. All the usual data entry functionality is available. The data remains in the local site database until it is transferred.

The Data Transfer module is used to transfer data between the remote machine and the server. All data changed since the previous transfer session will be transferred. You do not have to specify which data to transfer.

On launching the Data Transfer (DT) module, user details are synchronised with the server machine before the login screen is presented. This means that any changes such as password resets, account locking/unlocking, account disabling/enabling or changes to the password policy that have occurred on the server since the last transfer are updated on the remote machine before you log in. If conflicting actions have been performed on the server AND at the remote site, the server activity takes precedence.

Please note that the 'rde' user is treated differently from all others. Although you can make changes to the 'rde' user details on a server or remote site, the changes for this user are never transferred between site and server.

This module is not part of the standard MACRO package but can be purchased separately. Please contact Customer Support for details.
