Creating a new version of a study

Version control allows you to create multiple versions of a study definition.

You will need to do this if you want to distribute a new version of a study to a remote site.

  1. Select Tasks > Study > New Version... The New Version window is displayed.

  2. Select the study and click Export.

  3. Enter a description of the new version and click OK. The study is exported to the Out Folder of the application folder as a .sdd file.

You must only perform actions on later versions of the study definition which are also supported on earlier versions of the study definition. An example of supported actions would be adding a new question, repeating question group, eForm or visit to a study. Examples of non-supported behaviour would be deleting questions, repeating question groups, eForms or visits from a study, or moving a question from one eForm to another, or moving an eForm from one visit to another.
