Searching for notes

There are two ways of opening the Notes browser to display data for questions with a note attached:

Searching for notes using the search panel

  1. Select View > Search Panel or click the Open Search Panel icon to open the search panel. Using the search panel

  2. Select Note from the Data drop down list. See example If the option is greyed out, this means that you do not have permission to view the Notes Browser.

  3. Select your search criteria. More info

  4. Click the Execute search buttonto display the data in the Notes Browser in the main window.

 

You can change the way in which information is grouped and displayed in the browser. How to do this...

 

If you have a subject open, you will only be able to see notes for that subject. If you do not have a subject open, you will be able to see notes for all subjects associated with the sites to which you have access.

Viewing note information for a single question from an eForm

Questions with attached notes are indicated by the following icons:

  1. Open the relevant eForm. How to open an eForm...

  2. Right click the question status icon to the right of the question and select Notes > View from the popup menu. The Notes Browser is displayed in a window, containing notes for the current question only. If the option is greyed out, this means that you do not have permission to view the Notes Browser.

You can change the number of records displayed on a page and also the maximum number of records retrieved. Set this in Tools > Options > Environment.

 

To view notes in any of the ways listed here, you need both the 'View data' and 'View Note' permissions
