Duplicating an eForm

The most obvious use of this feature is, once you have designed a basic eForm, to use it as a template and to create as many copies of it as there are eForms in your study. This ensures consistency and is much quicker than creating them individually.

It is worth leaving this stage until you are happy with the layout of common features of the eForm, such as heading, logo, derived questions, horizontal lines and so on.

Once duplicated, you can edit the eForm to your liking and add the items that are particular to it.

Note: It is not possible to duplicate eForms within the Library Management module.

To duplicate an eForm

Open the question list for your study by clicking the Questions shortcut button.

Right click on the eForm you want to duplicate and select Duplicate eForm from the popup menu.

You will be asked to enter a new code for the eForm. A new eForm will be created with the new code, with the same questions, eForm items and attributes as the original.

The new eForm will appear in the question list, and you will see that the duplicated eForm has been added to the far right of the horizontal row of eForm tabs.

Note: If you have the Display Question List By Name option selected, you may not be able to distinguish between the original eForm and its copy in the question list. It is best to choose a different name for the new eForm, which you can do in the edit eForm window.

Copying eForms from the library and other studies

It is also possible to copy whole eForms into the current study from the library and from other studies.
